The Bahamas offer a wide selection of diving opportunities due to the unique underwater topography of the area. Most of the 700 or so islands of the Bahamas are surrounded by very shallow sandy bottom seas with an abundance of shallow, hard coral patch reefs. At the other extreme there are a number of very deep ocean trenches that criss cross throughout the islands. Diving on a wall drop-off where you know the bottom could be over a mile below you can be a breath taking experience, and of course when you find yourself is such an environment you never know exactly what you are going to see.....
