Girls from all over Chicago got the opportunity to do The Hokey Pokey –a dance craze that swept America in the1950s—in front of a crowd of 3,000 at Chicago Sky basketball game.
They got started at a pre-game clinic set up by O-Ke-Doke popcorn and finalists with the most creative moves were chosen during the game. Twelve-year-old Mariella emerged the winner.
Cheryl Szego, O-Ke-Doke Popcorn’s director of marking, said the contest brought “kids together to teach them about healthy lifestyles and get out and have fun with exercise –that’s what it’s all about.”
