Set in the buildup to the Civil War, Kansas Pacific is an explosive adventure surrounding the westward expansion of the famous Kansas Pacific railroad. The Kansas Pacific railroad was a Union project, and the Confederacy was resorting to sabotage to halt its progress. Cowboy Sterling Hayden is brought in by the brass to combat the enemy and fall in love with the boss’ daughter, the beautiful Eve Miller. A well produced film, Kansas Pacific boasts great footage of classic old trains and locomotives – as well as old trains and locomotives blowing up! Calamitous fights punctuate this film, the heroes and the villains warring with pistols, explosives, and fists. Kansas Pacific is a splendid combination of a historical trip back through time and a thrilling action movie.
