To commemorate the 5-year anniversary of Homeland security we spoke to Dan Sutherland and Shaarik Zafar from Homeland Security's office of civil rights and civil liberties to address the negative image about DHS. Some critics have argued that DHS is deliberately targeting Muslims in the fight against terrorism. But according to DHS, the department is simply trying to protect the country and at the same time protecting peoples rights and liberties which involves following the correct guidelines and procedures that any country would pursue to protect its security. Another point that was highlighted was DHS is not only working in counter terrorism but is also engaged in helping the community in times of natural disasters and calamities. For Beyond the Headlines Imran Siddiqui reports from Washington.
