When Rich Rodriguez took over as head coach of Michigan he inherited a team with starting quarterback Chad Henne leaving for the NFL and his backup Ryan Mallet transferring to Arkansas. Leading Michigan in the spring at quarterback is a red shirt freshman, a transfer and a walk on in spring practice. Rodriguez is installing his spread offense at Michigan that he was successful with while at West Virginia. It may take some time for the Wolverines to pick up this new offense and Rodriguez’ trio of quarterbacks have looked bad in the spring. Fortunately Michigan will have true freshman Justin Feagin enter school this fall and may start as a true freshman at quarterback if he can learn the system fast enough during summer practice.
