This film is made from 8mm reels taken in 1963 along the Cote d'Azur, the French Riviera. It shows typical US Navy stuff, sailors going on Liberty and "Hitting the Beach" in Cannes, France.
(NOTE: 6 minutes into this film, pictures of our squadron VAW-33 detachment65s' beach party can be seen, with close-ups of some of the participants.) the volleyball sequence pre-dates "TopGun" by many, many years.)
The remainder of the film proceeds down the coast to Gulfe-Juan, Antibes, the 6th Fleet Flagship (USS SPRINGFIELD) anchorage at Villefranche, then on to Nice and Monaco(Monte Carlo)
Views are from the Corniche roads south of Nice and flying(skimming) above the Mediterranian waves on a Hydrofoil boat.
Concluding the film is a side trip across the French-Italian frontier to San Remo home of the famous Italian POP Music Festival.
We return to the BIG E in a motor launch from Fleet Landing.
