So you're about to buy a house and don't know what you, as the buyer, get to keep. The general rule is, "if it's attached to the ground, it's real property and stays with the house." But this rule always isn't perfect...for instance, a chandelier or curtains can sometimes be attached to the land, but often the seller will want to keep it. Bottom line, you need to ask questions about everything that might be questionable before the contract is signed.
