Alfio, a middle-aged farmer, lives with his children Tommy (20) and Giulia (4) in an isolated house in the hills, splendidly set amid cornfields. For the last few days their telephone, TV and radio have not been working. They decide to head into town to find out why, and make a terrible discovery.
