Speaking at Lance Armstrong's LiveStrong Summit in 2006, Mike Milken described the vision of FasterCures (www.fastercures.org), which is dedicated to removing barriers to progress against all life-threatening diseases. Mike uses the analogy of a train and the tracks it travels on: today's medical research technology (the train) can travel close to 300 mph, but the tracks (bureaucracy and lack of vision) limit trains in the United States to 50 mph (the same speed they traveled 100 years ago)
