The minivan struck both Amber 9 years and Jay 5 years while they walked over to take the school bus. Crossing guard scheduled to work Tue 30th 2010 called out sick. A replacement guard was not on duty at the time of the accident. Amber's hip was broken so badly it required surgery ASAP!! Just 4 days later Amber was released from Children's Hospital younger brother Jay was not injured by the minivan and both are doing okay.
