My personal cut of the music-video promo "Shark In the Water" for the upcoming season of "Degrassi: The Next Generation", featuring extra behind-the-scenes footage with the cast and crew on set. There will be FOUR NEW STUDENTS introduced in Season 10. By order of appearance, they will be DREW (portrayed by Luke Bilyk) Eli (Munro Chambers), Bianca (Alicia Josipovic), and Adam (Jordan Todosey). "Ms. Oh" (Cory Lee) and Shannon Kook-Chun (Zane Park, who appeared in the season 9 episode "In Your Eyes") will both be returning on a reoccurring basis. Leia Chang (JudyJiao) will only be returning for the first 24 episodes. Melissa DiMarco will not be returning at all, leaving Mr. Archie "Snake" Simpson (Stefan Brogren) to take her place as acting principal... which should be interesting. Something tells me Snake is going to be around as long as Degrassi is, if he lives that long. I'll reserve final word on who else we won't be seeing until the word is final. What's awesome about this video is that it's telling us a story- how the entire season is going to play out, point by point. Every scene is another clue, the most significant of which being the WHEEL... The (visible) words on THE WHEEL are as follows: Betrayal Sex Crushes Deception *LOCKDOWN* Love Lies Secrets Danger Seduction Loss Surprises I've been getting a lot of questions about the wheel, and some really great theories as to why it stopped on the word "Lockdown". Many of you have suggested that a major character is going to wind up behind bars or under house arrest (think Sean Cameron), while others are saying that Degrassi ITSELF will be under lockdown. I'm leaning more toward the latter theory (My first thought was a Columbine-ish/ Rick situation), and I think the death card will play heavily into that idea down the line. Whatever it's meaning, "LOCKDOWN" will play a key role sometime later in the season and will become central to the plot in the finale... so keep the theories coming! ;) xoxo, 7heSleeplessDreamer
