Hi everyone, this is Michael. And welcome to EngPods. I went to visit my friend at his antiques shop the other day. It’s filled with all kinds of delicate and expensive knick-knacks. While we were chatting a woman came in. As she walked about the shop she kept bumping into things. I was afraid that she’d knock something over and break it. So was my friend. You could tell by the way she carried herself that she was really clumsy. Her movements were awkward. The woman picked up an antique hand-mirror. When it almost slipped out of her hands I thought she was going to have 7 years bad luck. Then she picked up a very old porcelain vase. Which she almost dropped on the floor. “She’s all thumbs”, my friend whispered to me. I agreed. The woman wandered over to a collection of very rare crystal wine glasses. My friend was beside himself with worry as he looked on. The woman sneezed and almost dropped one of the glasses. “Butter-fingers” I thought to myself. “She really is like a bull in a china shop” Then this blundering woman headed over to a stack of antique dinner plates. She tried to take one of the dishes out from the middle of the stack and the whole thing started to wobble. “Look out”! I cried. The plates crashed to the floor and shattered into a million pieces. The woman apologized and offered to pay for the damage. She asked if the bill could be sent to her office. “What do you do?” my friend inquired. “I’m a neurosurgeon” she said. That’s all for now. See you next time!
