Some Christians seem unable to avoid the attraction of this colorful, seductive world whether its interacting with mediums, astrology, fortune telling, pendants, New Age, ouiji boards, psychic phenomena, or false visionaries. In an attempt to warn the faithful about the dangers that lurk behind unhealthy devotions, the Catholic Church says: "All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service and have a supernatural power over othersâeven if this were for the sake of restoring their healthâare gravely contrary to the virtue of religion."
