Prenzlauer Berg on a smaller scale. Over the years, Helmholtzplatz has transformed from a small neighbourhood in Berlin with a homeless shelter into an up and coming hotspot for young and trendy families. Small cafés, shops, restaurants and bars have sprung up in the areas around the main place, whilst in the centre a giant pirate ship has been constructed for children to play on. The Helmholtzplatz is the perfect place to spend a peaceful afternoon with a coffee, either on your own or with the kids.
