It takes all kinds - James Herriot, the junior colleague of vet Siegfried Farnon, meets Helen Alderson. Siegfried hires an accountant he eventually spends most of his time hiding from, and Tristan, Siegfried's younger brother, is left with a whining dog, for which the only solution is cotton wool in the ears and lots (and lots) of alcohol.
