A Preta is a type of hungry spirit, and one of the possible reincarnations for those who obsess over worldly possessions.
Gaunt, with bellies distended by hunger, the preta are always seeking food, but unable to quench their hunger, with mouths too small to make eating possible, and necks too thin to make swallowing easy.
