Because of the tendency of the flesh to slide backwards, Christians find ourselves in need of periodic renewal (personal revival). When a whole generation is caught up in revival we experience an awakening (which we need in America now). One of the integral prompters of revival has been testimony. As the Lord instructed us in Ps. 78, the older generation is to pass on to the younger generation the stories and praises of the great God we have.
