ChildLine provides confidential counselling to children for a whole range of problems, from physical or sexual abuse, through to worries about exams, pregnancy and bullying. ChildLine joined with the NSPCC two years ago enabling it to expand its service â nevertheless, it is still only able to answer two-thirds of the 2.3million calls it receives every year. In response, the NSPCC is urgently calling on the public to donate to their ChildâÂÂs Voice Appeal, a three-year ã50m fundraising campaign launched last year. The appeal will help expand both ChildLine, and the NSPCC Helpline (for adults concerned about the safety or welfare of a child). This is needed in addition to ã30m already pledged by the UK government. People can help answer a childâÂÂs cry for help by donating by visiting www.childsvoiceappeal.org.uk Anyone worried about the welfare of a child can call the NSPCC helpline 0808 800 5000.
