The Hall High School theater department recently learned they have been chosen to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2010. The Hall students will be performing alongside other high schools representing the American High School Theater Arts Festival booth in Scotland.
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the world's largest arts festival and is open to anyone wanting to perform. The three week festival held every August sees more than 1,800 dancers, musicians and actors from around the world. The American High School Theater Festival is part of a larger educational travel company called World Strides.
The cost for each student is more that $5000. There are currently 140 students in the theater arts department. Theater Director Sean Harris hopes to take all students wishing to go. The department will begin raising funds this summer.
