Finding treasures to bring home to family and friends is no problem in Honduras. Simply explore the various shops in any town, and you'Âre sure to find a memorable handmade craft. This video explores three areas of note: Valle de AÂngeles, a small town located near Tegucigalpa, is known for its leather, carved wooden boxes and weavings. The distinctive pottery made by the indigenous Lenca people is a unique option - one that is only made in Honduras. This pottery can be found in shops across the country. While visiting the Bay Islands, be sure to consider the handmade jewelry and hammocks. (This video was filmed in July and August 2009, in conjunction with the Honduras Institute of Tourism.)
