Just like an athlete or sportsperson, a horse in work can develop areas of soreness. With our horses here at River Valley, we have found that because of the hill country we ride over, our horses are very strong in the back (arse) end, but can often get sore around the shoulders. Much of this is from inexperienced riders putting too much weight on the front of the horse riding downhill. In this video we watch a horse chiropractor realigning a number of our horses. The horses feel so good afterwards, that they will often follow him around the year with a happy glazed look on their faces. For more info - http://www.rivervalley.co.nz
