In 2005, Tiangang Sun was arrested and wrongly imprisoned by Chinese authorities as a result of business dispute with Sinopec, one of China's largest energy companies. During the five years of his detention, Mr. Sun's property and assets were seized and his company was dismantled. He was separated from his family, including his one-year old daughter and 80 year old mother, who passed one year into his imprisonment. In 2012, Mr. Sun was released. Later that year, he received an anonymous package containing documents and a notebook detailing the conspiracy between Sinopec and government officials to frame and convict Mr Sun. Now in the United States, Mr. Sun seeks to share his story and prove his innocence through the U.S. justice system, despite continued threats against him and his family.
