The AMA is encouraging the development of new, officially recognized AMA Park Pilot sites in metro areas throughout the US for a new generation of smaller RC models known as "Park Flyers." Park Flyer models will weigh two pounds or less and be incapable of reaching speeds greater than 60 mph. They must be electric or rubber powered, or of any similar quiet means of propulsion. Models should be remotely controlled or flown with a control line, remain within the pilot’s line of sight at all times, and always be flown safely by the operator. A Park Flyer site can be either an outdoor or an indoor venue. David Ellis works within a variety of disciplines. The project “Flyway” is both performance and exhibition. Commissioned by the Theory Icon Project, David Ellis painted every day from morning until night in an airplane hangar inspired structure. This entire process has been captured in stop frame animation that Ellis calls Motion Painting. Finally, the finished works will be installed at the Theory flagship store from April 7th until June 2nd, 2008. I realized Prokofiev's 8th Piano Sonata sounds pretty scary doing this. But rethinking about it, I've always found Pokofiev's Peter and the wolf to be pretty scary too :) My camera is broken but I really started to miss making some videos so I started to dig in old material and this older piano recording. The mountains you see are for sure the Alps, but I can't remember where I was flying to so I don't know exactly in which country. If someone knows how to film from an airplane with a cheap camera without having this overwhelming blue color I would be happy to hear it. As usual I am very thankful to my wife Marina Scalafiotti for agreeing to use this live recording of Prokofiev's 8th Sonata (recorded somewhere in France, about 7 years ago).
