This week, iFanboy takes a look at the comic book death. It can be poignant and touching, or a cheap marketing ploy to sell more books. No character is immune to the reaper's touch, but then again, sooner or later, they'll be back.

First off this is a pretty monumental accomplishment for DC getting to issue 850 with Batman. Congrats DC. This story ended a lot stronger than I had anticipated. I lost interest with the last issue and was just waiting for the end. The additional information about Hush and Tommy Eliot was great and added the depth to his character that really solidifies him as a part of Batman’s rogue gallery. He was definitely a strong character but he lacked some of the history that the other villains have. The Bat family came together, which I always enjoy seeing, but the best part of this story is the epilogue. Catwoman is one vindictive kitty. What she did to Hush in retaliation for his attack on her just down right awesome. It also leaves Hush desperate, broken and with nothing. I have a feeling he is going to come back ...

This book just went from weird to ridiculous. Not only do we have ape versions of the marvel heroes, but now some of them are vampires that want to invade our universe to drink our blood. I mean come on. This book inspired the biggest groan and rolling of the eyes that I have ever experienced in reading comics. The only thing that I did like about this book is when Gibbon was talking with the ape version of Speedball and he was asking about his human self. Gibbon couldn’t bring himself to tell him about how he killed 600 kids and started the civil war and is probably the most hated hero in the Marvel U. I wonder how we would have taken it if Gibbon had told him the truth. That conversation would have been more interesting than this whole story. Distributed by Tubemogul.

A trailer for the website COTTONMOUTH.TV. Cottonmouth.TV was created by Christopher P. Garetano (Horror Business) as an ideal venue to premiere his short horror film titled Cottonmouth. The site is a celebration of horror movies, monster make-up, Halloween and horror comics. Aside from the short film (Cottonmouth) the site will show exclusive content throughout the month of October. The site will go live on October 1st 2008 and Cottonmouth will premiere on the first hour of October 31st 2008.

I get tongue tied alot in this video. So you'll have to bear with me. As a young buck I liked comics very much, and I really never considered that the people drawing my favorite comics were adults, or that they did it as a living. It wasn't until I was 20 when I realized that this could be a profession that I'd like to do. There is no other artist that I like more than Jim Lee. I do like other artist's style but they don't hold a cake to Lee. There is a lot of stuff I don't understand about his art, like the way he does Psylocke's eyes. But it always looks beautiful. Every time I see his x-books for cheap I have to pick them up. Thanks Mr. Lee for the Insperation.

Batman: The Animated Series (often shortened Batman: TAS or BTAS) is an American, two time Emmy Award winning animated series adaptation of the comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero, Batman. The visual style of the series is based on the artwork of producer Bruce Timm. The original episodes, produced by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, were first aired on the Fox Network from 1992 to 1995. When the first season of the series aired on weekday afternoons, it lacked an on-screen title in the opening credits and was known only as Batman (and would be referred to as such in episode recaps that summarised what had happened "previously on Batman..."), although it was retroactively officially titled Batman: The Animated Series.

The New Adventures of Batman is an animated series produced by Filmation in 1977 featuring the DC Comics superheroes Batman and Robin, and Batgirl. In The New Adventures of Batman, The Dynamic Duo fights crime in Gotham City, encountering the classic Batman rogues gallery as well as some original villains. Complicating matters is Bat-Mite, a well meaning imp from another dimension called Ergo, who considers himself Batman's biggest fan. As a result, he wears a variant of Batman's costume and attempts to help him, only to often create more problems (although he is occasionally an asset). Missing is Alfred, the faithful butler of Batman's alter ego Bruce Wayne; also notable in this series are the inverted colors of the "R" on Robin's costume.
