Für Benno sind es bedauerliche Unglücksfälle, Kollegin Sabrina wittert dagegen Verbrechen. Sowohl Alfred Blenninger als auch Maria Plaschek erben nach dem Tod ihrer Ehepartner eine ordentliche Stange Geld. Als herauskommt, dass Blenninger seit Monaten eine junge Freundin hat und plötzlich ein merkwürdiges Testament von Frau Blenninger auftaucht, ist auch Bennos Misstrauen geweckt. A television film based on two short modern operas: Weisse Rose by Udo Zimmerman and Litany of our Time by Ton de Leeuw. Weisse Rose is about the execution in 1943 of two students Hans and Sophie Scholl, who were arrested after printing and distributing leaflets calling for opposition to the Nazi regime. The opera takes place on the eye of their execution, when they are spending their last night together in a cell. Litany of Our Time is set at an airport, where a man is waiting for his flight. In these impersonal and mechanical surroundings, where everyone is going their own way, he is bombarded with world news from a newspaper. News about wars, famine, natural disasters and violence scream at him from the pages, but they hardly affect him; they are sounds from a totally different world than the smooth, streamlined world in which he finds himself at that moment. As the Voyager of the Seas sits in Charlotte Amalie, we get a driving tour of St. Thomas. For only $45M, the undeveloped island of Hans Lollick (and it's little neighbor) can be yours! That's just a short rowboat ride from Magan's Bay Beach, consistently voted one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. President Bill Clinton stayed at one of those not-so-little villas in the pictures (but who remembers which one?). From Mountain Top, the highest point on St. Thomas, all neighboring islands are visible. The day is finished with dinner and a show. Clearly, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines packs too many opportunities for fun into one day!

This clip is of Hans and Elly, who, let me just say, I love. We've been on the road for 25-some days now, and we've met a lot of great people who are very cool, and fun to talk to. But it's been hard finding the "voices" I had in mind for Pedal. Perhaps many of the people we've talked to so far are too early on in their rides to really dig deep into their experience. Hans and Elly are on their 2nd bicycle trip - their first was 30 years, when they spent 9 months traveling by bicycle from Holland to New Zeland. Their stories are amazing - I can't wait to hear more. They really understand that trips like these are 99% mental. Amazing people.

The movement demanded: - An immediate end to the illegal military occupation of Iraq, which has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and displaced millions of people, a withdrawal of all foreign troops and the full transfer of sovereignty to the Iraqi people and their representatives. - A halt to all preparations for an attack against Iran, and a commitment to solve any issues through exclusively diplomatic means. - A withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, allowing the Afghan people to determine their own future. - Justice for the Palestinian people, and an end to Israeli aggression throughout the Middle East. - An end to plans for US missile defence, and that all states actively pursue nuclear disarmament.

Een zoektocht vol onmacht, verlangen, liefde en wreedheid, met als hoogtepunt een spannende loopwedstrijd van Atalanta tegen de knappe Hippomenes. Teksten uit de ‘Vertellingen naar Ovidius’ door Ted Hughes zijn nu bewerkt door Hans van den Boom en op muziek gezet door Anke Brouwer.

This is the first project from year two of my course Digital Video Design (now named Interactive and Motion Design). The brief was to create a fully interactive DVD menu for a film of our choice and try best to convey the atmosphere, content and overall pace of the film. I've probably worked harder on this project for some more subtle aspects, than i have for any other project i've done so far. I think i've come a long way since the 'Persistence of Memory' project for example. Obviously the version sumbitted was a DVD disc with full interactivity, so for the version you see here is alot shorter and without the ability to select buttons.
