Auf dem 13. Internationalen Kongress der Internationalen der Psychoanalytischen Vereinigung 1934 in Luzern wartete eine gut vorbereitete Intrige auf ihn. Aus Rücksicht auf die politische Entwicklung in Deutschland wurde Reichs „Verdrängung“ in Form seines Ausschlusses durchgesetzt.- Während seines Exils in Skandinavien fasste Reich sein Konzept der Funktionsweise des Organismus zusammen; er formulierte die Vegetotherapie, untersuchte die elektrophysiologischen Zusammenhänge von Sexualität und Angst und begann mit seiner Krebsforschung. Die Veröffentlichung seiner Bionversuche lösten neue Diffamierungskampagnen aus. Der Anthropologe Bronislaw Malinowski erlöste Reich von seiner insgesamt sechs Jahre dauernden Reise durch die Angst und holte ihn nach Amerika. 1939 nahm Reich an der New School for Social Research in New York einen Lehrauftrag für medizinische Psychologie an. 1942 erwarb er ein Grundstück im Bundesstaat Maine, wo er sein neues Forschungslaboratorium etablierte, das er „Orgonon“ nannte. Reichs Forschungsarbeiten nahmen hier eine stürmische Entwicklung. Neben der Fortsetzung seiner psychotherapeutischen Unterrichtstätigkeit führte er eine Vielzahl von Versuchen mit der von ihm so benannten „Orgon-Energie“ durch. Die letzen acht Monate seines Lebens verbrachte Reich im Gefängnis. Die staatliche „Food and Drug Administration“ hatte gegen Reich bezüglich der von ihm postulierten Heilwirkung des Orgon-Akkumulators und dessen Einsatzes Anklage erhoben. Reich lehnte es ab, sich vor Gericht gegen diese Klage zu verteidigen und wurde dafür zu zwei Jahren Haft verurteilt. Per Gerichtsbeschluss wurden sämtliche Orgon-Akkumulatoren zerstört und alle Bücher die von der Orgon-Institute-Press veröffentlich waren, tonnenweise verbrannt. Wilhelm Reich verstarb am 3. November 1957 im staatlichen Gefängnis von Lewisburg.- In seinem Testament verfügte er über seinen wissenschaftlichen und dokumentarischen Nachlass, dass dieser erst im Jahre 2007 geöffnet werden dürfe.

In all of my life and especially during my tenure here in Skid Row, I have NEVER seen nor heard of the NAACP coming to or caring about Skid Row! As it has been well-documented, the demographics in Skid Row are majority "people of color", the same as whom your organization claims to represent and/or care about. After countless decades of mistreatment by the missions, non-profits and social service providers, the lack of your organization's presence is counter-productive to your overall mission statement. Today the Navy authenticates the keel for future USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) at General Dynamics-Bath Iron Works shipyard in Bath, Maine. Participants will include Lt. Michael Murphy's mother, Maureen; father, Dan; and brother, John, who will confirm the keel is laid straight and true. Designated DDG 112, the ship is named in honor of Navy Lt. Michael Murphy, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan June 28, 2005.
