This month's launch, taking place December 22nd from 7-11 p.m., will be open to the public, kicking off the high season on the island. According to Roland Richardson, father of Caribbean Impressionism, "The plaza and the cultural events that we are planning there, will be a genuine addition to the island. It will be contributing something, as well as, giving those who are working in the many disciples of arts and crafts, an opportunity through a beautiful venue and promotions, to get known, be seen and contribute to the event. As we become more culturally conscious and aware, we function on a higher level of consciousness. St. Maarten has that potential and this opportunity is definitely one of those means by which it can actually be implemented," said Richardson. The event is free and open to the public. The festival will continue into 2011 with new performances and exhibits each month scheduled for January 19, February 16, March 16, April 20 and May 18.
