Inspired by the new Presidency, television producer and philanthropist Norman Lear unveils “Born Again American,” an initiative featuring a song to move all listeners to recommit themselves to American citizenship as we go through these trying but hopeful times. The “Born Again American” song features regular Americans performing the song in front of fourteen iconic landmarks. The song asks citizens to pledge themselves to be “their country’s keeper” through higher levels of service and civic engagement. At www.bornagainamerican.org, Americans can take an online pledge to reconfirm their active citizenship and volunteer for service, register to vote and work together to renew the American promise. Over 1 million Americans have signed on to become Born Again – won’t you?
