SVTAGS - Will Tait, Sustainable ArtistSilicon Valley Technology, Art, Green & Sustainability talk show with host and Executive Producer Heather Durham. Episode guest is sustainable artist Will Tait. This artist has been working with wood in his art for over 40 years. Trained as a classical artist I have spent the past several years developing and refining processes and procedures that enable me to utilize modern CNC technology for carving highly complex designs in relief in wood and other materials. As a teenager, he was a boat builder in the 1950’s in the San Francisco Bay Area. When he started a traditional College in the 1950’s one of his professors said, “you do not need to be here” and helped him get into a famous art school in New York. While in New York, he learned from other artists and was given free passes to local art galleries. He moved back to the Bay Area and is known for his sustainable art pieces. He works with architects, interior designers, or custom builders for clients who want something truly unique, and is known for large scale custom relief carving, Craftsman, and Victorian restoration work, one of a kind furniture. He uses the finest woods to create unique, individual furniture pieces, or whole themed suites for homes, resorts, hotels, etc.
