If bands were food, Oscar Galt and the Eventual Somethings would be the greasy kebab you order while drunk at three in the morning – filthy, yet undeniably delicious. As pioneers of ‘sarcastic gutter rock’, the shabby-chic Melbourne four-piece fuse an enigmatic mix of blues, grunge, old school punk and rock together in a potent manner, and draw from the works of iconic songwriters like Nick Cave and Tim Freedman. What’s more, they do it in suits. Galt and his Eventual Somethings – university friends Alex Biggs, Michael Hood and Hollie Joyce, formed amidst a sea of solo projects in 2013. Produced by Mark Lang (Skipping Girl Vinegar) and indie whiz-kid Nick Huggins (Oscar+Martin, Kid Sam), they present their first single “Bodyguard”, a raucous rock anthem of love, disdain and those dreaded romantic obligations. NYC-based alternative, pop rock band Frealane released their debut music video "Never Too Late" recently through their Youtube channel 1frealane to immediate critical and commercial attention. The irresistibly powerful, catchy song launches the new band onto the spotlight in a spectacular way. The music video serves as the classic introduction to an up and coming rock band ready to burst into the scene. With low, close-up shots of each band member rocking out in their respective instrument, the video is reminiscent of classic indie rock MVs we see so little of today. Dressed in gorgeous dresses and seductive make-up, the lead singer entices the viewer with her grace and confidence. The video is primarily shot in two locations, each showcasing a different mood. A juxtaposition of the darker, gothic environment with the lighter, more innocent look can be seen. Carrying a tinge of alternative metal, the single is a wonderful amalgam of alternative and hard rock. The lead singer's soulful, laid back vocals demonstrates range and the ability to appear both strong and servered. Nashville quintet Sol Cat was one of more than 2000 indie bands that played at 100-some venues at SXSW this year, and their music is the backing track for this documentary short. Tetra Pak US and Canada commissioned a look inside this most underground and influential of music fests because SXSW attracts legions of Millennials, who in turn gravitate to our sustainable modern carton packaging. The docu-short features several thirsty tattooed musicians and one aspiring, wolf-suited fiddle player.

“Alone With Patty” is a short film that was shot on March 27th, 2012. We were asked to speak at an Art Gallery (Art4Vision (http://www.art4vision.org), a local gallery in Fort Lauderdale Florida and show some of our work. But we didn’t want to show anything old, so were challenge to make a film in just a few days. As we looked at our schedule we realized we only actually had one day to make the film. So “Alone With Patty” was shot in 6 hours. From 8pm-2am on Tuesday The film stars Josiah Sampson (William) and Christal Mancari (Patty) and is about the worst five days in Williams life. It is an indie art house film which awkwardly and comedically reveals the rise and fall of a perfect relationship. Music: Music is such an important part in the process for us. And we are so thankful to be surrounded by really talented artists here in Fort Lauderdale. Josiah Sampson (of the indie rock band Kids, www.longlivedthekids.com) scored the film and provide one of his original song “Exist” to be used in the main montage of the film. Ryan Alexander (of Civilian www.facebook.com/civiliansounds) also release his song “Nothing You Want To Wake Up Next To” to be in the film as well. Brad and Cindy could never see eye to eye after the honeymoon was over. His partying lifestyle drove a wedge between the couple and prevented him from providing for their child's special care. After a bitter divorce, Cindy moved out of their home with child and away from the abuse. Brad started an illegal marijuana growing operation on the outskirts of town. Just as he believes that he is in control of his destiny, Brad soon finds out that his life is due for another dramatic turn of events.
