The southafrican artist Esther Mahlangu designed the 12th BMW Art Car in her traditionally oriented style in 1991. With the colorful composition she displayed a high contrast to the high-technology car, a BMW 525i. As a Ndebele woman, she had the right and ability to paint according to their tradition.
