Back in the thirties already, the big Mercedes-Benz Coupés were the design flagships of their time. Now, a new member of the CL class is just around the corner, the premiere of which we will watch in September. The twelve-cylinder engine of the CL 600 is said to consume 14.3 litres per 100 km. The 5.5-litre engine turns out 380 kW/517 hp with a maximum torque of 830 Nm at the wheels propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4.6 seconds. Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the board of DaimlerChrysler AG and head of the Mercedes Car Group argues that the CL 600 features a full equipment, justifying the higher price of 149 640 Euros.
