Our Perillo Tours Familia is given a fantastic view of the city of Florence from the top of the Medici Palace grounds. Florence's Medici Palace, also known as the Pitti Palace, seemed most real of all the palatial estates we have visited. Not completely over-the-top gold leaf everywhere, not every blade of grass meticulously manicured. It seemed most real, like the Medici's could actually still be living there; perhaps they were away on business somewhere. It was therefore easier to get in the turn-of-the-eighteenth-century mood of the place.
