Assiut is one of Egypt's poorest areas, after decades of hardship a pioneering group of farmers are starting to reap the fruits of their labour. Fifteen years fighting back the desert to turn seemingly barren sand into succesfull and productive fields. The film is researched and presented by two young journalists trained by Offshoot to report on the MDGs for the UN's Sailing the Nile project.
