Presenting the United Kingdom Independence Party Annual Conference 5 and 6 October 2007 at the Troxy, London England UK.
Welcome to the 2007 UKIP conference under the positive banner of ‘Regaining Independence’. You will hear some of our policy groups outlining our agenda for a country that, once more, governs itself. With open question-and-answer sessions and full debate on Saturday, there will also be plenty of opportunity for members to participate. The EU question has been very silent for the last two years. However, with the proposed ‘Reform Treaty’ (read Constitution) about to be signed, a real debate is unavoidable. As pressure grows on Gordon Brown to offer us the referendum that was promised in the Labour manifesto, we will be there voicing our demands. The reason why this conference and the health of UKIP really matter is that we may find ourselves centre-stage sooner than many had thought.
