In one of the earliest Sherlock Holmes films ever produced, A Study in Scarlet is the enigmatic tale of homicide and bloody codes. When a rich member of a high society business group is murdered, Sherlock Holmes is hired by his widow to investigate. Secret passages, murder suspects, lying, cheating, and scheming populate this engaging and mysterious adventure. Holmes employs his deductive reasoning to its utmost, while the criminals deviously try to cover up their wrongdoings. A Study in Scarlet is orthodox Sherlock Holmes fun, and that’s a good thing.
