Summary:
Angelus is back and Wesley , knowing she's the one real chance they've got, retrieves Faith from prison to help capture the dangerous vampire.
He needs her help, but there is so much left unsaid between them. Guilt for not being what each other needed (the tougher and stronger watcher who could've been there for her and the good slayer he'd wanted), regret and hurt for the pain that they've caused each other, and something underneath it all that's drawing them together.
As they get ready and battle Angelus, they strive to be what they need in each other in order to make it through and re-ensoul their friend. In the end, their plan to capture Angelus works, but at what cost? Wes is torn up as Faith lies, battered and bruised, in a coma.
For these two, the need to protect themselves is so strong, but Faith and Wes can both sense what's dancing around the edge... just waiting for them to give in.
Maybe, for once, they can find the strength not to run away.
