Members of a 1940s New York City gang get involved in prizefighting in Kid Dynamite. Inner city youths Muggs McGinniss (Leo Gorcey) and Danny Lyons (Bobby Jordan) from the same clique end up vying for a title shot together, leading to an ever escalating rivalry. The various locales for their encounters include pool halls, dance contests, and pure pugilism. Kid Dynamite captures the essence of low income New York neighborhoods, as well as fueling a dramatic feud between two youngsters with very different outlooks on life: Danny isn’t interested in gangs and the Mafia, while Muggs wants nothing more than to be the toughest guy in the neighborhood. Leading to some sensational boxing contests, Kid Dynamite erupts in the ring to a hard hitting finish.
