The trafficking of people, particularly women and children, is an everyday reality for many of the poor Bangladeshi communities in which Concern Universal works. Criminals trick those desperate for a better life with false promises of a better life in a far off land. Once over the border and in India, the many victims end up working in one of Kolkata's notorious red light districts or as a bonded labour in domestic servitude. In response to this pressing problem, we are working in partnership to reduce trafficking of women and children. This illuminating, sometimes shocking film lifts the lid on this barbaric practice and shows what local communities, with Concern Universal's support, are doing to stop it.
