The White Wood Muscovado Mill was established in January 2007 to create jobs and improve the productivity of community members in Lian, Batangas. It is the only upgraded muscovado mill in the province, utilizing a mechanized cane crusher. It has settling and filtration tanks that are needed to produce sediment-free muscovado sugar that meets buyers’ quality standards. Its production capacity of eight tons per day is at par with other upgraded mills in the country.
Muscovado Sugar, the mill’s main product, is the generic name for soft, brown sugar produced by cooking sugarcane juice through natural processes. It is considered a health food due to the presence of minerals and trace elements beneficial to the human body.
