The Missing Corpse is a splendidly whimsical movie, despite its title, with superb acting from J. Edward Bromberg. Bromberg is a straight laced journalist who is at odds with his professional rival Paul Guifoyle, a corrupt and unscrupulous reporter. Mystery ensues when Guifoyle is murdered and nobody knows where his body is. Much to his surprise, Bromberg finds the corpse planted in his trunk! Bromberg, dismayed, wants to move the body lest he become the number one murder suspect, as was clearly intended by the real murderer. A hilarious adventure proceeds, as the body keeps popping up every time Bromberg thinks he’s finally rid of it! The Missing Corpse is part comedy, party whodunit mystery, and the film amounts to nothing short of a wildly entertaining.
