People ask if I sell a stencil for painting the background for a 39" (1 meter) handicap stencil. That's the standard size for a handicap symbol and it's my biggest seller. I do sell a background stencil, but I don't use it myself. This is how I paint the background. I place the S-3039M handicap stencil in position, and use the outside as a template for applying two inch masking tape. That gives me a perfect 4'x4' square for the background.
