The East-West rivalry is deep in the NBA. And it doesn’t get any more intense than the feud going back to the days of Larry Byrd and Magic Johnson. The Celtics and the Lakers will meet again this week for the 2008 NBA Finals.
The Lakers are coming off a few strong playoff series, listed at 4 and 0, 4 and 2, and with the latest at 4 and 1 against the San Antonio Spurs. Now, the Celtics team wasn’t quite as lucky in its playoff schedule as compared to L-A because it had series marked at 4 and 3, 4 and 3 and Boston took the Eastern Championship with their 4 and 2 series win against the Detroit Pistons.
The first game for the official NBA finals is planned for Thursday at Boston starting 9 p-m Eastern Standard Time. The schedule follows with one more at the Celtics home, then transfers over to L-A for 3 games and then returns to Boston if necessary.
