Children with a personal connection to Morocco (children with Moroccan parents or grandparents, children who have visited or lived in Morocco ...etc) were invited to submit artwork on the theme âMy Moroccoâ. The Kids, ages 4 and 12, drew upon their personal experiences living in and visiting Morocco, or family stories or traditions that illustrated what Morocco means to them.
The masterpieces were on display for the two judges, Mr. Hamid Kachmar, a Moroccan Artist teaching at Howard University and Ms. Mimi Wolford, of the Smithsonian Institute, who had the difficult task of choosing the top four winners.
The 1st prize went to Mouna Baghera for her painting called "my grandma's neighborhood", the second prize was claimed by fares Assaadi for his collage called "Agadir", his father's bithplace., the third prize went to Sophia Kaddouri and the forth winner was Tito Khantach for his work named "argan tree""
