Cone shell envenomation of a small fish. Cone shells have a highly developed venom apparatus which they use to immobilize prey. Here we see a small tropical cone shell called Conus magus (Cone of Maggi / Magicians Shell) envenomating a small guppy (fish) in a marine aquarium tank. Highly potent toxins immobilize the fish so the cone shell can consume it.
