San Jose is on its way to becoming the most sustainable city in the nation, thanks to Chuck Reed’s Green Vision plan. Mayor Reed said the city is committed to running entirely on renewable energy, creating Energy Improvement Districts, recycling 100% of its water, and altering the livingscape to make walking and mass transit the easy and more desirable norm.
He says the plan is “do-able, difficult yet not impossible.”
Known for his staunch fiscal conservatism, Mayor Reed’s push for a green megacity suggests that the appeal of green policies is permeating both sides of the political isle.
