Opening of the vaginal vault at the anterior or posterior fornix, where the vaginal portion of the cervix is attached including the excision of the Mackenrodt (Lateral) and Sacro-uterine (Posterior) Ligaments. The uterus is extracted through the vagina. The vaginal vault is closed by suturing. The rubber ball seen in the vagina prevents the loss of pneumoperitoneum. - Prof Zion Ben Rafael -
