Honda has been working hard to compete with Toyota in putting out affordable hybrid vehicles, and the brand new Insight hybrid that they unveiled at the LA auto show this year is a big step towards competing with the Prius. The Insight is named after Honda's first attempt at selling a hybrid, which was the first gas and electric car available in the US when it came out. But the new Honda Insight is sleek, aerodynamic, and thoroughly modern. The new Insight is aimed at mass audiences, unlike the original tear dropped shaped two seater. Insight 2.0 is a comfortably sized five door with folding rear seats. Honda claims that the new Insight will have a price tag of just 19,000 dollars, which is a few thousand dollars cheaper than a new Prius or Honda Civic Hybrid, and it will match or even exceed the fuel economy of both of those existing hybrid models.
