An unconventional look and tour around two of Cebu city’s historic landmarks. Magellan Cross and the 400-year-old Basilica de Stn. Nino. These historic landmarks mark the beginning of Catholicism in the Philippines and are situated right next to City Hall in downtown Cebu city where the President of the Philippines herself holds office whenever she is in town. Yet despite the uninterrupted strength of the Cebuanos’ adopted Catholic faith, and the ambivalence of the country’s leaders, poverty still dogs every corner of this city and indeed every corner of the Philippines. This video is a brief observation about some of the people inhabiting the downtown area who for whatever the reason, have become homeless and often go hungry.
