This is a documentary shot in 2002 whilst on my MA in Visual Anthropology. The coastal waters of Scotland still support a fishing community, however times are changing even for the inshore fishing communities around the Isle of Skye. Neil 'Heast' shares his family history and we spend a little time finding out about 'The Clearances', a dark and grim part of Scotland's past, what this meant for his family and what it still means to the community today. Loch Eishort offers a spectacular backdrop of The Black Cullin and some of the Cleared Villages that litter the Island and the West Coast of Scotland in particular.
